| I've heard it referred to as a hybrid of Magic and Vs. I've never played Vs so I can't really comment on that but the game is very heavily based on the Magic system. Almost all the cards have a Magic equivalent and if you know how to play Magic you'll pick up WoW in no time.
Gameplay wise I find it to be more enjoyable than Magic, due to the resource system they use. Getting rid of manascrew is a big plus in my books. Instead of choosing what colors of mana to use you decide which hero you'll play. Your card selection is then limited according to hero class/faction. With nine different hero classes, and sixteen different heroes, there appear to be many different possibilities for deck building. Combat is character to character.

In the flavor department, I prefer WoW to Magic, for both the setting and the gameplay. I don't play WoW, but I 'get' the WoW setting due to my other fantasy interests. There's always been a disconnect between the backstory of Magic and the game of Magic, but I can overlook that because the game is that good. The WoW cardgame just seems to integrate both flavor and gameplay in a way that Magic never has, which makes it that much better to me.
