I never thought I'd get up at 5am to shovel snow so the dog could go outside.

I never thought I'd read the nutritional details on a bag of dog food more carefully than my own food.

I never thought I'd spend 5x as much on a haircut for my dog than my own.

I never thought I'd intentionally keep a smelly T-shirt laying around for the dog to curl up with.
