Not all help comes with bad intentions
We did our usual Sunday shopping thing... grocery shopping, picked up pet food, yada, yada, yada. Before we went to the grocery store we stopped by Wally World to get my nephew snacks for his lunches for during the week.
When I walked into the store, there was a woman probably in her mid 50's or so struggling with 2 carriages that were stuck together.
Since I needed one as well, I got behind the one that refused to let go of the one that she wanted, put my right foot on the back right wheel so it wouldn't move, held on the handle and told the woman to pull the other one.
She hesitated and gave me this really weird look as if to say "Yeah, right! You're going to let go as soon as I pull and I'm going to end up on the floor!" I took her "look" for what it was worth and told her to pull again, so she did although I could tell she was still wondering whether to trust me or not.
The carriages came apart and she never hit the floor as I didn't let go of the one I was holding on to, not that I was planning on doing that anyway. I saw that she was getting frustrated and wanted to help.
I wasn't mad at the woman for not trusting me, but it does suck that people in general have to be so frickin' suspicious because some stranger wants to lend a hand. I didn't do it expecting anything other than not having to watch the woman throw her hands up in the air because she was aggravated.
Sheesh! Apparently random acts of kindness are a thing of the past....
