Anyone see the Calzaghe fight last night?
Once again... he looked ordinary against a limited by brave fighter. once again showed his utter lack of class in the post-fight interview (claiming he was butted, when the clash of heads that gave him the cut was HIS fault; claiming it was an easy fight and his opponent was worthless and he couldnt knock him out because of a hand injury and he hadnt sparred at all in training...)
Dont get me wrong Calzaghe is a good fighter, and a bigh hitter - but he has spent most his career avoiding big fights... he probably only has 3 or 4 notable wins. He is massively over-rated.... and after all the hype over the Lacey fight, I think we saw the real Joe Saturday night. I had him winning by 3, so Im not disputing the decision... but Calzaghe has no legacy.
He ducked Roy Jones Jr, the great fighter at that weight of his generation... he will be remember as a wasted talent, an alphabet champion who bolstered his record against hand picked contenders, not taking on other champions.
