im trying to do the simplest of things....

error handling for a webservice.

if the webservice is down, then do some error handling... for example:

webservice.url = "http://www.ass.com/fakeservice.asmx"

try
webservice.doshit()
catch
error handling stuff
end try

for whatever reason, it enters the "try" but doesnt throw the "Catch" it still throws an error "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found."

why wont it throw the "catch"?

and is there any way to check to see if a webservice is available before you try running it?
