I haven't had a young dog in over a decade and my rescue puppy is in the chewing stage. She has managed to shred some of the hard plastic off the legs of my office chair and I am concerned that she might swallow a scrap of that. I've surveyed the house and have found electrical cords that she can easily get to. I need to devise some means of keeping the potentially harmful things out of her reach. Any wisdom offered will be greatly appreciated.
I'm really not worried about the things that attract her that won't harm her. My garden shoes have been showing up in odd places, and she had a great time with the tp roll. I need to buy a variety of chew toys for her because she gets bored with the few that I currently have. I just want to keep her safe from anything that could harm her.

I would recommend using some sort of spray that tastes really bad such as bitter apple on the cords and such. You can also use tabasco sauce. You might go through many types of taste tests with her before you find something she truely hates. The pet store has many different kinds.
