George Washington displayed many characteristics and participated in many events that are worthy of remembering.

Also worthy of noting is that he often falls into the "hero worship" category. Along with his accomplishments, his position on American Indians and slavery should be noted.

Such information provides the whole picture of the man for future generations. Too often we leave out the parts we view as ugly.
