I suppose I just disagree a little with the philosophy of the OP. For me to make definitive statements like that would require that I be able to control outcomes when the most I can control is the intent of my input, hence the way I worded my statements. I don't always enjoy my job, so "I usually enjoy my job" is the more accurate statement. I do sometimes hurt others' feelings, so "I try to be considerate" is more accurate than "I am considerate".
I'm really not comfortable with making unconditional statments that can't be objectively measured because that tends to set me up for disappointment when I don't measure up. I think it's better, for me anyway, to have a realistic image of myself than an unrealistically positive one.
I'd rather have a moderate ego than a pumped up one. There's less distance to fall.
