Don't jump on it as it's fairly high and there's not much headroom if I were to stand on it.
The set we got when we first got married cost us about $450 if I remember right. We didn't much money to throw around as I was still a student and hubby was a factory laborer. We still have that boxspring and someone else gave us a better mattress to go on top so that part was free. The bedframe is wrought iron and sturdy but only cost us $25 from a rummage sale. If I had to replace it I would have to pay a whole lot more so I'm not going to chance wrecking it.
I have a several sheet sets. Some are 100% Egyptian cotton. There is nothing better than 100% cotton sheets. Forget that polyester/cotton blends - ick. The comforter and skirt we have now were on clearance so didn't cost too much but they were 50% off and I only paid about $45 I think. Good deal in my book.
I try to flip the mattress when I remember but a queen size mattress in a room without much clearance between the bed and the ceiling fan makes it a bit difficult if I can't recruit hubby to help me. I have to catch him when he's IN the bedroom and not laying down or sleeping if I hope to accomplish that.
