I have been wanting to take a picture of one of these for a while. I think it's an ingenious way to carry coffee.
This is a type of kueh called Lapis Sagu. Kueh's are the Malasian or Peranekan version sweets. They are usually made with tapioca or rice flour and coconut... there are tons of different types of kueh. I was going to show you a picture of my favourite one, but I ate it before I remembered to take the shot.
I visited the Bukit Batok Town Park today. It features a small Lake and rocky area called Little Guilin (named after the city of Guilin in China that has similar landscape only larger). This father and son team were fishing.
Like many big things, a picture doesn't do it justice. It really was quite beautiful.
I decided to walk through the park and it turned out to be little more than a dirt path that climbed up the hill and came down into a residential neighbourhood on the other side. Halfway up the hill, just off the path, I came across this shrine.
Finally, the view from the top. I am thinking about renting a place in the condo in the middle (it's why I came to the area in the first place). While the view is nice, I think it might be too far out of town for my taste.
