I understand some military groups use incredibly intense magnets to flash-erase media in situations of imminent capture. I don't know how they avoid the flip problem unless they're spinning in a focused field or something.
DBAN with several passes is extremely secure. If you have time for two or three, why not just let it go overnight?
If you're completely paranoid or they're knocking on the door it's time for a grinder or torch. Tough to read a pile of shavings/slag.
