We got married the end of October and we spent a week in the mtns of western NC....we saw no point at all in spending tons of money to have a week after the wedding where all we wanted to do was relax and was only a few hours drive from the ceremony (which turned out to be a good thing, because I woke up with the worst cold I've had in 10 years the day after the wedding)
Our 2nd choice was Savannah, the major thing that stopped us was that the prices in Savannah go up halloween weekend and everything is booked WAY in advance.
