What kind of paint and what kind of wall. Goo Gone is petroleum based (not alcohol based) ... it may strip paint or it may leave a stain. You may not be able to paint back over it if it soaks into the wall.
I'd go with j8ear's suggestion. Sand it and then repaint it.
