I've never found body piercing to even be mildly attractive, but that's just my opinion. I understand that the vast majority of humanity thinks otherwise.
You could weigh your choices like an economist does.
Consider 'A'- the satisfaction you would glean from the belly button piercing, all the positive regard you would gain from your friends, and all other happiness you would probably receive due to your piercing.
Now think of 'B'- the satisfaction you may lose due to a botched job or unpleasant complications, all the negative regard you would receive from your father and some individuals, and all other happiness you would probably lose due to future and frequent conflicts with your father.
If 'A' clearly outweighs 'B', then I suggest you go ahead and get that piercing. If not, you have two options:
1) Work towards reducing the negative outcomes involved in 'B.' For instance, find someone your father trusts to explain to him why piercings are harmless, socially acceptable and asthetically pleasing.
2) Give up. This could present greater long run benefits, but I'd leave the final analysis to you.
