I've played both Mafia and The Godfather for PC. The two games are very similar, but The Godfather feels more like GTA than Mafia did. The Godfather includes a much larger map, lots of side missions and different cars with different speed limits. Mafia did a good job when it came out, but it felt more restrictive in that you pretty much had to stick to the missions which were laid out. The Godfather offered the ability to complete the story missions but also the ability to go out into the world before you and complete side missions or just interact. You don't have to follow the story until you're ready. The Godfather story missions are fairly simple to complete with a couple of difficult ones. One thing I liked was the timed missions gave you plenty of time to complete the mission. I always felt in GTA some of the timed missions were difficult to complete due to the time constraint. In the Godfather you have lots of time the focus is on getting the job done.
