"Paris, Texas" was a great lyrical film. The whole film is driven by it's depiction of solitude and loss. The screenplay is minimal and the plot can fit on a single sheet of paper ... It's all about the mood. I liked it. But I can understand if someone else might regard it as pretentious or slow.
"Badlands" is another film that you either like for the mood or hate for the pace.
