NBC's New "HEROES" TV Show

I am soooooo looking foward to this. It seems they are taking a serious/realistic approach to how superpowered people would be percieved in today's society. Just from watching the few video previews and reading what information has already been released, to me it seems to have a "Lost", "Unbreakable", and "Rising Stars" feel to it. I really hope NBC gives it a chance.

I heard the Pilot was already leaked on the internet.

NETWORK:NBC

SHOW DESCRIPTION:

This one-hour drama chronicles the lives of ordinary people who find out they have some extraordinary abilities. After a total eclipse, a genetics professor -- whose father recently went missing -- uncovers a theory regarding people with superhuman powers. Elsewhere, a young man tries to convince his politician brother he can fly, a teenage girl finds she's totally indestructible, a Vegas showgirl discovers that her mirror image is a separate being and a gift artist (struggling with a drug addiction) can paint the future. Ultimately, this disparate group of folks will be asked to save the world.

Synopsis

The drama tells the story of people who "thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities".[1] A Japanese salaryman discovers that he can manipulate time and space. A struggling New York artist can paint the future but only whilst he is using heroin. A discontented police officer in Los Angeles can hear the thoughts of others. A high school cheerleader discovers she recovers from any injury and a single mom realizes she has "a powerful alter ego". The premise is that these people have a role in "saving humankind".

According to the NBC website,[1] not only do the characters discover what having superpowers means to them, but also uncover a larger picture of the origin of their superpowers. The characters eventually become involved in each other's lives as they attempt to evade the series antagonist. The antagonist wishes to harness their "super DNA" for his own ends. Together, they must find a way to save the world.[2]
