I dunno, I'm "oriental", and I don't consider the term derogatory.
Typically though, I hear the word "Asian" used to describe ppl from China, Korea, Japan, Phillipines, Vietnam..
And.. well.. "brown" to describe ppl from India, Pakistan, etc. etc.
None of them are supposd to be insulting or racist in any way.
