I'll chime in as a person of Italian descent and say that, if you are older than say 10 yrs old, then one does not cut their spaghetti. You just don't. For younger children, cutting is fine. My family would look at you weird if you came to dinner and proceeded to cut the spaghetti and probably would kick you out of the house...
