Emerald leaves glisten with a silverish dew
golden rays glowing with an orangish hue
and though this is Summer's cue
I can't help but fondly think of Spring, too.
Emerald leaves fade into red and golden brown,
some never fade - they just float to the ground,
Autumn's surely already here to stay,
I can't help but wish Summer wouldn't leave us today.
And soon the leaves will float off from each tree,
and the frosty chill that is Winter will come to be,
greeting us each morning with it's icy kiss,
I can't help but think that Spring is true bliss.
Flowers blossom and grass blades break through,
the soil is rich and moist with once silverish dew,
these are just the hints of Spring, albeit small,
I can't help but wish to answer Summer's call.
