I was just using some of the 3M double sided tape yesterday to hold wooden blind valences in place onto the metal top assembly since the clips that usually hold them broke ...it works great and would not be hard to pull off and clean the residual glue/foam left after removal. This stuff is available at all the local hardware stores around here, it's a roll of about 1/16" thick foam with a pretty aggressive adhesive on both sides and I have no doubt whatsoever that it would hold a CD until you pull it off. About the only contingency I would plan on is to use a mild solvent, maybe alcohol or cleaning solution, to clean the spot where you will stick it to make sure there is no oily residue to compromise the adhesion.
