I don't do anything fancy with mine...which I use almost exclusively to make coffee.
The key is getting the best and strongest coffee you can find (although it does work with just regular grounds as well).
I heat my milk in the microwave and then add sugar and whisk with an
aerolatte. Then I pour the coffee into the glass.
I have also used hot chocolate as the base and added the coffee (don't add any additional sugar as the hot chocolate is typically sweet enough).
