Not so fast! I agree with you one the warming ones being nothing more than a gimmick, but lube is not just lube!
I used to be that way, I though good 'ol KY was the ticket. This is not the case though, KY is made for medical purposes, not sex. It tastes terrible and you have to use a fair amount of it.
While shopping for a vibrator, my gf and I discovered a whole new world of lubes. We've settled in nicely on a little brand called "For Play" and they're water based gel lubricant. It is tasteless (we found that the flavored ones tended to get sticky more quickly and just didn't feel natural, a vagina is not supposed to taste like pina colada!) and it lasts and lasts and lasts!
I don't know much about female stimulates or using menthol, but switching to a proper lube certainly helped us a lot. Careful though, a little goes a long way. On our first test run with the new stuff I put on the usual KY sized amount and she was still cleaning it up 4yrs after we were done and had gone to bed!
Go to a good sex shop (we went to one with a lesbian slant but still offered products for straight couples, men, etc) and see what they've got, talk to the staff, etc. Some places offer sampler packs, that's what we did first.
Good look and keep it lubed, no one likes dry sex!
