Tax rate for CEOs?
I don't know the anwser to this, so I am posting it on the Internet. Hopefully my guess that they would still be in the highest tax bracket is correct.
But, if Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) cashes out, let's say, $200 million in stock options he has held for more than 1 year, and only makes a $1/year salary. Would he be in the 15% tax bracket? Or does the amount of income you make off stocks (capital gains) not count towards his normal tax rate.
And do CEOs take the $1 salary to get around medicare/social security taxes?
