I would wait untill you get your first bill, that will clearly show your account number so there is no mistake made. In regards to pre-paying your card - I do it all the time. I will make a purchase and then transfer money onto the card to cover.
Also, I would personally do transfers onto your visa card rather than pay bill, if you pay bill it can take a week for the payment to be reflected in your balance, whereas if you do a transfer the money is credited to your account immediately.
Your visa account should be listed automatically.
