I don't know if it's right or wrong, i was just sayin that your friend is wrong about homosexuality as population control. Perhaps it works as population control in a species that doesn't have as much of a conscious choice over when and where to reproduce. Humans don't even need to have sex to reproduce. Homosexuality isn't a barrier to reproduction; pretty much anyone who wants to have a child can have a child.
