Good point, I'll copy what I submitted to the page:
A system admin (who shall remain nameless) had the following conversation with
tech support:
Support: "So how are the networks communicating?"
Admin: "It's all done by VLAN."
Support: "On the core switch?"
Admin: "Yes."
Support: "Ok, so what's the IP address of the core switch?"
Admin: "It doesn't have one."
Support: "Then what's handling the routing?"
Admin: "It's all done by VLAN."
Support: "On the core switch?"
Admin: "Yes."
Support: "So what is the IP address?"
Admin: "It doesn't have one."
Support: "Then how is it routing?!"
Admin: "The core switch is doing it by VLAN."
Support: "Ok, can you do a show run on the core switch and send me the
output?"
Admin: "Sure."
15 minutes and one running-config file later and I found the interface info for
the port that all the VLANs fed to, sure enough there is the helper IP that we
needed to be able to route to all those VLANs. Aren't user's great?
