that's great to know about Fresgos still in business. That used to be my primary destination when finishing a stint of tree planting in the interior. I wouldn't even go home first. it was drive from Merit or some such place to Fresgo's and THEN go home and shower. that was in the 1984 time frame.
oh ya on topic... go check out some of the natural tourist spots: Lynn Canyon nature walk and suspension bridge (
http://www.findfamilyfun.com/lynncanyon.htm ) or the bigger Capilano suspension bridge (
http://www.bcpassport.com/itineraries/four_canyons.html )
Or the Salmon hatchery there.
Take the cable car up Grouse Moutain for a view. (

Go see Chinatown. go to Queen Elizabeth Park (

And.. if you want want to see naked , aging hippies playing volleyball, go down to Wreck beach (
http://www.wreckbeach.org/ ) for your typical nede beach (typical!! hah!) experience. But on the way check out the UBC campus, and the Museum of Anthropology which is just at the top of the cliff overlooking thebeach... (
