Take him to a baseball game
Take him to the driving range or batting cages to shoot some balls or hit some balls (chelsea piers has this, it's a little expensive, but it's nice)
Take him out for a beer.
Take him fishing - or one of the chartered fishing boats (I know they exist on Long Island cuz i've caught blue fish that way..)

Basically - -you're an adult, he's an adult -- get him to know you as an adult... Time is the greatest gift anyone can give.
