Have you been watching the second season?
Eccleston was good, but Tennant is much, much better. The range of emotion this guy goes through and the skill which he does...it's fantastic. I hope he sticks around for a while.
I should also mention the writing, which has improved considerably. It's lost a bit of its cheese (I've yet to see an alien fart joke...), but that's okay because what you get in return is so much better.
