That is true only for maintaining certain weight, but that doesn't mean it is healthy, in order for your 2000 calories a day to be a good diet, the calories most come from different food groups. It is possible to get 2000 calories a day only from ice cream, but in the long run you will have deficencies, you will be malnutritioned (if that's even a word) but retain certain weight.
