I wouldn't worry about Willis's stats so far. The high ERA is the result of three really bad starts and a pitcher's W-L record should never be looked at to decide if he's right for the team. Other than that, he's been the same guy he's always been. The risk is injury. Not many guys can log as many innings as he has at such a young age and make it back unscarred. Plus, his delivery is a pitching coach's nightmare, it puts a lot of stress on the arm and the elbow. He's kind of a TJ case waiting to happen.
Ultimately, AZ has the better prospects to deal so if they wanted him bad enough, they could get him. However, I really don't want the guys that would need to be included to go. Drew won't be traded for anyone. A deal with either Chris Young (CF, AAA) or Carlos Quentin (RF, AAA) as a centerpiece, a really good AA SP, and Miguel Montero (C, AA) could get it done but Young, Quentin, and Montero project to be at least above average to possibly all-star types. That's not worth it at all. But Webb and Willis could be like Schilling and Johnson as far as dominating 1-2 punches go.
A package including the likes of Navarro, Ledee, Repko, Aybar, Mueller wouldn't get it done. Not even close, I heard the Mets were interested and they asked for Wright. It would be more like Billingsly, Martin, and Broxton. That's a hell of a price to pay but Colleti just might be motivated enough to do it.
Perez is just about untradeable right now.
