CLUE: The guy who built it was a postman. He was also considered the "villiage idiot". He took something like 33 years to complete his house. When he couldn't be buried in his house (French law forbid it) he spent another eight years building a mausoleum for himself in the town cemetary.
Towards the end of his life he was celebrated by famous artists such as Andre Bretron and Picasso.
