Her children are very young. The four year old probably doesn't know the severity of what is going on but be sure that the eight year old does and shes probably scared. Try talking to the older one to see what has all been said. If she has said in a round about way that she wants to kill herself, ask her straight out "Do you plan on killing yourself?" Her answer will be clear to you and you will know what to do. Follow your heart, not your mind. She may hate you for awhile but in the end she will be thankful for the intervention.
