Have you ever tried to find a bottled drink (e.g., soda or iced tea) with regular sugar? I've spent a bunch of time reading labels at my local deli. High fructose corn syrup for almost everything. There's one local soda brand (Foxon Park) that lists only sugar, and sometimes I can find Honest Tea (with honey), but that's it so far. Even Jolt, which began with the slogan "all the sugar and twice the caffeine", now lists "sugar and/or high fructose corn syrup".
It's almost enough to drive me to artificial sweeteners, but (a) aspartame gives me a headache, and (b) I just don't trust the others yet.
