You know I am surprised myself that they don't have an Oktoberfest celebration. The town is made up of 54.9% German ancestry. But I double checked the
City of Merrill's online calendar and there is no mention of any city sanctioned celebration. Or even in nearby towns to the
north and
south
As a side note I found out that the hispanic population in our town is only 1.0% so the fact that there is no Cinco De Mayo hoopla here makes a little sense.
