I don't imagine this to be a huge problem, I mean, is winning really that important? Is it even really winning if you actively go elsewhere to determine your move? If that's the case you didn't beat me, the author of your encyclopedia did. Not to be misunderstood, if you are actively studying chess and happen across something useful and relevant to a game you're currently involved in, I don't believe that would be cheating. I think we all know the difference.
