Is it a US company or a UK middle-man with a margin? £6K/~$10.5K USD still seems expensive. Then again, I camp about half the time. Do they provide a choice of rides?
I'd do it myself. Sounds like you want to so why compromise? Downside is you'll spend a day or two at each end of the trip for buying, packing, logistics, & selling, but that's part of the adventure. I've made that distance in one week with stops. Two weeks+ is a leisurely ride. Only thing I'd worry about is that my license & insurance eligibility & such were known before arriving. It'd be awful to waste a week resolving that stuff.
