Heck, that purple one lurkette picked out could be worn to a nice dinner, or even to a daytime wedding (but I don't have the best fashion sense), so it would be flexible. With some simple black shoes (Payless or Walmart has good quality for cheap), you'd be set. With olive skin, you could also go for a nice chocolate brown or a deep green. Pear shape, do a fuller, flowier skirt, and hovering around the knee is a great length... not too old, not too sexy, just right. =)
