I've only heard Vicarious. I have a problem with the lyrical content. In my interpretation of the songs, Lateralus really got to the heart of the matter. It abstracted the essence of being human and various human experiences and used this essence to come to profound conclusions about human life and how it should be conducted, or something, but Vicarious on the surface seems to be about a very banal particular aspect of human behavior, and I don't know what else it could be about. Is he even using the word 'vicarious' correctly?
