BoCo: It is one thing to state that it wasn't of your taste, but you have gone on to show what your taste is. Many people, such as I, Love Jim Carrey movies. So to say Matrix was like that, only makes it look better in my mind. Not to mention, there was quite a LONG line for the new movie by Jim.
You seem to have shown that you only like fight scenes and nothing else. This is perfectly fine, we all do not have to have the same tastes, but you keep insisting that your view is the only view on what make a good movie. Me personally I play RPG's, and so that "long and boring" talk scene wasn't that. It was the writers, or GM's(for us geeky fellows) way of showing depth into the character. Sure he coulda just said "Fuck off", but that wasn't him. He wanted to taunt them, and then just try to generally lose them and see if they would walk off confused. Unfornately for him, their mind was set on what they came for and he did not lose them. And yes the cake was NOT an orgasm, it was a powerful aphrodesiac<sp>. That is why it showed a sudden sension "down there" I assumed that was the reason they were checking for minors, as I assumed she was going to masturbate right there. From a few Anime Videos, I picked up that he just made her extremely horny. And that also explains why he had lipstick on his dick later on...
Oh and I should note, I was listening to his character and how he liked to stall and lead them astray, not looking down his wife's shirt.
All the talking with the oracle? Again another character in a story. She had another way of thinking, and if they didn't show it, then to many other the character would be undeveloped, same for the guy who built the matrix. You kept pointint out how you did not like these talks and how basically they should get back to fighting. Then even on fight scenes you got bored. Well see, I am a martial artsist, so when they faught with weapons that a martial artist uses, I was completely zoned out watching it. It was a simple punch kick, swing, attack. Yeah he coulda just punched them to the moon, but then obviously you haven't paid attention to Neo's mentality when he fights the agents. He fights then with one arm tied behind he back, figuratively speaking of course. He fights making a mockery of them, only to piss them off more, that alone makes me laugh. Also you would note that he was stalling. If he kicked two guys to the moon instantly, I'm willing to bet at least one guy would have chased after the keymaster than to be killed... Thus by stalling their deaths, he was able to keep all of them honed in onto him. One thing I was noticing about that fight scene was simply how he faught with one sword. We all know he could faught with two, so why didn't he? Well I have found out, and even by watching others, that when fighting with two swords, the second slows you down a bit. and just a single sword can keep you focused better as you fight. Also notice all the weapons that were used. Neo also used Sai's.. Weapons that are the PERFECT weapon against swords, and since he could use them, he could stop all the blades. Ingenius I think, seeing how he could have chosen ANY weapon on the walls. He also used Bo Stick (at least thats what my school would call them), and they are used well in Hapkido, but also they are great for disarming your foe, as well as laying a smackdown with a blunt object
These are the little parts that I noticed that only enhanced it, and what made it even a better movie to me. You have showed that you just want a big gunfight or something(mind you this is what I have perceived about you, not saying this is set in stone, aka no offense). Now you see our two difference in what can make a movie really good or really bad. Seeing this, how can you say the movie is bad..... FOR EVERYONE. It sucked for you, I'm sorry for that, but it did NOT suck for the rest of us.
You say it was a joke, but i saw no hint of a Joke, Please show us where this Joke was hinted so we can smack ourselves in our head in disarray. Besides, a joke doesn't go on to tell everyone that what they think is stupid cause it really sucks.....
