HDMPs are just dump files. Sounds like you've let them build up for awhile. Kill them unless you're developing and need them for debugging.
Nothing should use TEMP files beyond the context of the current boot. View by date and kill up to today or when you last booted. The worst that should happen is you discover some of them are open by a process and resist deletion.
There's likely other temp junk on your drive. Try <a href="ccleaner.com">crapcleaner</a>. Excellent little temp & garbage remover. Remember to tell it not to delete cookies for IE, & FF in the apps tab if you use it.
