i'm not so sure they're not that different. sex for rent is essentially using the barter system. and they enter into the agreement from the beginning stating that she's trading sex for his trading a living space.
if you told a woman she had to have sex with you to keep her job, that's not bartering... that's essentially extortion because you already have your agreement (work/time for money) and now you're changing it.
now, if you were to make it a condition of being hired (rather than keeping the job), they would be pretty damn similar.
