some times, if it does not say 'access is denied' it is because windows is preparing a crash/error report to send out, which also crashed, either give it time, or add tunes to the list of programs not to prepare reports for.
to do this, open the system properties window, select the advanced tab, then the error reporting button, select the chose programs button, and add itunes to the do not report list. Hope that is the problem.
