any way you cut it, dude made obscene gesture in a church. While i don't like him and will probably never agree with his decisions, I don't feel that he should be overly lambasted or scrutinized unduly for making an obscene gesture in a church. I do feel it is in bad taste, but out of everything he can do wrong in his job...this is the least of my worries...
