Toronto has the population? Yes, if you compare them to any single other city in the country. If, however, you compare them to the rest of the contry in Total then: Rest Of Country > Toronto.
The CBC is a service that our governemnt provides to us. They spend taxpayer dollars. Because they are not running it for-profit (whihc maybe they should) then they have a responsibility to show programming that is appealing to all Canadians.
You would therefore expect, at the least, to see some sort of proportianl representation on HNIC.
But we don't see that. The early game is always a TO game if they are playing. You can only catch the Canadiens and Senators on HNIC if they are playing another Canadian Team (either TO, West Coast teams when playing on the West Coast) or when TO does not play on a Saturday night (how often does that happen).
I can understand this from TSN. From the CBC this sucks.
