Okay then. I didn't really want to open up that little Pandora's box, but I'm in an honest mood today.

But that's just it. I've lived elsewhere.

Right, there are lots of folks from Toronto I know personally that live and work in Calgary. If you ask the majority of them, the general idea is they are living in a backwater red-necked town. It's probably short-term stay and it's probably for the money. So why don't they like Calgary? 20% because of Alberta's hype and 80% because it is *not* Toronto.
Leaf fans are hockey fans true, but still in love with the centre of the universe. The stories that leak out of Toronto about the fabled Blue and White is often painfully skewed and never seems to come with a big enough shovel.
Toronto has all the population, right? Well excellent. The Leafs will always get the 7:00 pm slot on HNIC unless they're on the West coast. The rest of the Canadian teams take turns on Saturday nights - the Flames probably only get 2/3 of their Saturday games aired. Is that fair? No, and it shouldn't be - if the Leafs get the majority of the viewership then they should get the best coverage. However, don't expect the rest of the Canadian hockey fans to be happy about it.
It's the arrogance that no one can stand, not so much the team. I loved watching the NYR's get their asses kicked season after season while they vainly tried to purchase a Stanley Cup. Same idea.

Toronto is the team. Le Bleu et Blanc. The reason the HNIC was created.
