I follow a small number of journals regularly and read all the latest entries on the index page when I have more time.

Without a doubt. Whether people explicitly state things about their character or not, I learn a lot about a person by what they write in their journal. For this reason, the Journal area is my favorite part of the TFP.

I don't remember why I thought I was starting it at the time, but it hardly matters now. Over time, my journal has come to be my primary source of expression on the TFP... my main workspace for personal growth. I've struggled with all of the things people have listed here as reasons for not keeping a journal, but none of it ever seems to matter more than the benefit I receive from the process. I am doing myself a favor by keeping a journal here, and I would hope that anybody who decides to participate in that process (by reading and/or commenting) does so because they find a benefit in it as well.
