Absolutely. I've got several TFP friendships that I attribute directly to the Journal section. I think it's one of the most personal parts of the site, and you get the opportunity to get to know people in a way that isn't possible in the other parts of the site.

If you already have a journal... Why did you start it? Please share how do you feel you benefit from it if possible.
Some people use their journals like a diary or something that records daily events. I use mine to work things out or examine my thoughts. It's good because I have thoughts that are made more effective by being written out in an understandable format. When I was younger I wrote letters that I never sent that filled the same purpose. I think this is better. In fact, I should be more proactive about using it.

Starting my journal was a very defined turning point for me here. It marked the time that I started becoming a member of the community here and started getting to know people instead of just talking to them. I think it's a really important part of our community.
