Interesting dilemma
A little background info...I just got out of a 3 1/2 month relationship last week. I wasn't feeling anything more than friends so I broke it off. Another circumstance; I play professional baseball and I leave for Spring Training on April 4th.
Now heres the deal. I hear from 2 people that this girl at the gym is interested in me and thinks I'm cute (note: I heard it from her trainer and another person at the gym). Hearing this brought a smile to my face because she is smoking hot. Perfect body and gorgeous face. Anywho, her trainer is the aunt of her really good friend. So they were talking the other day (her and her friend) in the gym and I decided to go up and strike up a conversation with them. By the way, I was introduced to her by her trainer earlier. She was talking to her good friend (the trainer's niece) and I went over and said hi. Her friend left to go workout and I was left to talk to her. We ended up making small talk and I eventually asked her out and she gladly said yes. So I got her number, and when she gave it to me my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I was so nervous. So anyways I called her up yesterday and we made plans to go to CityWalk at Universal City.
So I get a call today and it was her saying that she couldn't go to CityWalk because her Aunt from Idaho was visiting and they were going to have dinner. So she asked me out to coffee instead. We ended up meeting for coffee and sat and talked for a good 2 hours. We hit it off pretty well. Conversation was flowing and I was making her laugh. Shes a really great girl and very interesting and intelligent. She knows what she wants to do with her life and is just awesome. The subject of past relationships came up and she was on and off with her boyfriend of 4.5 years. Shes distanced herself from him now but still talks to him and such. From some of the things she was telling me; this guys is just a fucking asshole. Her whole family hates him and they said if she were to marry him that they wouldn't show up. Serious shit. So anyways shes single right now; as far as I know.
The thing is, I'm leaving a week from this coming Tuesday for Spring Training. Obviously I don't think we can get into anything serious but I definately felt a connection with her; something I didn't feel with my recent ex-girlfriend. We have a lot in common and share the same family values, which is really important to me. I would really like to continue seeing her when I get back in September, but I think that conversation with her will come before I leave, also to see how she feels about things and/or what shes looking for or wants. I dont know if I'm looking for some advice or what. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there and seeing what you guys think of the whole situation.
Thanks for listening!
